During my search for the juiciest celebrity gossip or pregnancy news, I continuously came across the same top story on many nationally known sites...actor & superstar legend Tony Curtis has passed away at the age of 85. And even though I wasn't too familiar with him as an actor, seeing as how he grew up in the 1930s, I've become very familiar with his daughter, Jamie Lee Curtis, while enjoying movies such as Halloween and Freaky Friday. According to the
www.nationalenquirer.com , he passed due to cardiac arrest at his Las Vegas home.
Born June 3, 1925 as Bernard Schwartz, in Bronx, Curtis rose to stardom by starring in more than 100 films, like Spartacus and Johnny Stool Pigeon.
"My father leaves behind a great legacy of performances in movies and in his paintings. He will be greatly missed",daughter Jamie Lee Curtis commented on her father's passing. And it wasn't just his daughter who recognized and appreciated him for his lifelong work; there were people all over, including families, celebrities and even radio stations that recognized him for his works. " He'll be remembered as a very good actor when people start reflecting on the amount of work he did both in drama and in comedy", headed BBC radio. "He certainly was wonderful in 'Some like it Hot and he was quite brilliant in 'Boston Strangler' ".
Like I said before, I didn't truly know who Tony Curtis was or how much of an influence he had on people nationwide, simply because he established his ground before my time, but one thing that I do know and can relate to is that it's never easy when you lose someone that you care about or love. After he/she has passed, there is nothing that can replace his/her personality or their physical presence. And in times like these, we all have to do the best that we can to cope with the devastation.
